Southern Cross Catholic College,
Burwood

Talk Money with Ecstra Foundation is proud to announce we are partnering with Southern Cross Catholic College in Burwood to co-host FinEd Forum 2024! This event is free and open to all secondary school principals, teachers and educators passionate about financial education, literacy, and wellbeing.

We believe the confidence to navigate financial decisions is core to the development of young people to realise their full potential. This event will showcase a variety of approaches to support the integration of financial literacy into student learning experiences, including careers and wellbeing programs.

Teachers can expect to gain insights into creating engaging and practical lessons that cater to diverse student needs and learning styles, resources and digital tools that support learning, and strategies for fostering positive money mindsets.

Our FinEd Forum 2024 host is Effie Zahos, 9News Money Editor, author and one of Australia’s leading personal finance commentators. We also feature a keynote address from the Hon. Daniel Mookhey MLC, Treasurer of NSW, and Caroline Stewart, CEO of Ecstra Foundation.

What expenses can the bursary be used for?

  • Partial or full subsidy for transport (such as airfare, bus, train, or mileage).
  • Subsidy towards accommodation expenses in order to attend the FinEd 2024 Forum.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for consideration, the applicant must:

  • Be a registered teacher (or a pre-service teacher)
  • Work in a school outside of the Sydney metropolitan area
  • Without financial support to cover the associated travel and accommodation costs may not be able to attend and participate in the Forum

Priority will be given to registered teachers travelling from more remote areas (as defined by the Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS) and who work in schools with lower levels of socio-educational advantage (as defined by the Index of Community Socio-Educational Advantage).

Submission deadline:

Please submit your applications must by 17 October 2024.

Notification:

Successful applicants will be notified by 25 October 2024.
