Becoming scam savvy is a new, free financial education workshop from Talk Money with Ecstra Foundation, designed to help high school students recognise common scam red flags and learn how to stay safe online.

With teens spending more time online and feeling confident with technology, they’re increasingly vulnerable – Australians under 18 lost over $236,000 to scams in 2024 alone*.

This engaging, curriculum-aligned workshop is suitable for Years 7-10 and delivered by expert facilitators in a single 45-60 minute session.

The workshop equips students to:

Recognise potential scams and red flags

Understand that scammers can target anyone

Take steps to protect themselves from scams

Apply a simple framework to respond to scams

Know what to do if they are scammed

Build confidence to talk about scams
