Each year, as part of Global Money Week, we offer the Talk Money Financial Literacy in Action Awards. These awards recognise and reward teachers who inspire their students to be confident in managing money.
Kindergarten to Year 12 educators are invited to share innovative classroom approaches that help their students engage with and strengthen their financial literacy skills. Submissions are invited from teachers from all year levels and across learning areas, no matter how big or small the lesson.
The awards open each year in Term 3 and we are offering ALL Australian teachers a chance to win one of four $2,500 cash prizes for their school – and it’s easy to enter!
To enter, Kindergarten to Year 12 educators are invited to provide a submission that demonstrates innovative classroom approaches to help students strengthen their financial literacy skills.
There are four award categories recognising teachers and their exceptional efforts to embed financial literacy:
The competition opens 9am, Monday 1 September 2025 and closes 5pm, Friday 27 February 2026. One winner from each category will be selected from a judging panel and announced during Global Money Week, 16-22 March 2026.
The prize for each winner in each category is $2,500 for the school. Winners will be notified via email and announced on Talk Money with Ecstra Foundation social media pages.’
Organised by the OECD, Global Money Week is an annual global awareness-raising campaign on the importance of ensuring that young people are financially aware, and are gradually acquiring the knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviours necessary to make sound financial decisions and achieve financial wellbeing. The campaign is run in March each year.

The competition is open to all Kindergarten to Year 12 educators across Australia from all year levels and across learning areas.
To enter, educators complete the competition entry form submission that demonstrates innovative classroom approaches to help students strengthen their financial literacy skills.
The school is also invited to like and follow the Talk Money with Ecstra Foundation Facebook page.

There are no limits on the number of entries that teachers can submit however please note that each school is only eligible to win one category, regardless of the number of entries submitted.
